Wi-Fi Alliance® applauds Automated Frequency Coordination (AFC) system approval by Federal Communications Commission (FCC)
Austin, TX and Washington, DC – February 23, 2024 – Wi-Fi Alliance® applauds the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) decision to approve 6 GHz Automated Frequency Coordination (AFC) system operators for commercial operations. Today’s approval is a significant milestone for the 6 GHz Wi-Fi® ecosystem that will maintain U.S. momentum in wireless connectivity and innovation.
We also take this opportunity to recognize the multiyear effort by our members and industry stakeholders to advance the development of the 6 GHz AFC resources that were instrumental to this accomplishment.
